4/30: Tiburones vs Cañadas

Cañadas came out on top of the Tiburones 13 to 3 in this Sunday’s game. Errors and lack of clutch hitting by the Tiburones were the reason for the loss. Alfredo Sandoval, Devin Nadal, and Gerardo Martinez each had two hits. Martinez extended his hitting streak to a team leading six games on the season. The Tiburones will look to turn it around next game against the undefeated Dodgers.

4/23: Tiburones vs Black Sox

The type of game that all the Tiburones fans have been waiting for finally happened. Tiburones came out on fire scoring seven runs in the top of the 1st inning and adding five more in the 2nd inning, en route to their most comfortable win of the season 16-5 over the Black Sox. Alfredo Sandoval was the player of the game going 4 for 5 including a monster 2- run HR in the 5th inning. Freddy Morales had a perfect day going 3 for 3 & a walk. Devin Nadal and Victor Osuna added two hits each, while Gerardo Martinez extended his hitting streak to five games as he singled three times. Roger Nuñez also extended his hitting streak to four games with his 1st inning 2 run single. The pitching was a combined effort as the Tiburones used six pitchers allowing five runs with four being earned. Newcomer Kevin Carranza was the winning pitcher earning his 1st win of the season.

4/15: Tiburones vs Duarte

Tiburones faced off against Duarte in the Saturday Night matchup and came out victorious winning 3-2. Tiburones starting Pitcher Adrian Ceron made his first start of the season and he didn’t disappoint going 5 innings allowing no hits, no runs, walking four and striking out 7 earning him win number one. Victor Osuna came in relief pitching four innings and getting the save. Hugo Lucero got the Tiburones on the board in the 2nd inning with the 2-out RBI single. In the top of 3rd Devin Nadal hit a 2- run double to make the score 3-0. Gerardo Martinez extended his hitting streak to four and Roger Nuñez extended his hitting streak to three.

4/2: Tiburones vs Morros

Morros visited the Tiburones this Sunday and gave the Tiburones their 4th loss of the season 16-4. Victor Osuna extended his hitting streak with a 2-run single in the bottom of the 1st inning. Adrian “The Kid” Ceron made his debut and pitched a scoreless 1.1 innings striking out two batters. Ceron looks like he will help the Tiburones as they are in need of better pitching. Gerardo Martinez added a double and stole four bases to get his total to seven for the season. Tiburones are off this coming weekend and will return to the field April 16th.

3/26: Tiburones vs Grizzlies

The Grizzlies visited the Tiburones de Nicaragua this Sunday in a thrilling game that ended in a 10-10 tie. Victor Osuna is on fire extending his hitting streak to 4 games while stealing three bases, bringing his total to six stolen bases on the young season and is now batting .615! Roger Nuñez went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Nuñez is second on the team in average at .417. Gerardo Martinez started the offense for the Tiburones with a 2 out 2 run double in the 2nd inning. Martinez went 2 for 4 with RBI and 2 SB. The Tiburones are now 0-3-1 and the Grizzlies are now 0-1-2.

3/19: Tiburones vs A’s

Tiburones de Nicaragua fall to the A’s 9 to 2 this Sunday at Fedde Sports Complex. The Tiburones were victims to an outstanding pitching performance from the A’s starter who struck out 11 of the 15 outs he recorded through 5 innings of scoreless baseball. Victor Osuna was the offensive player of the fame for the Tiburones as he went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and extending his hitting streak to 3 games. Gerardo Martinez came on in relief and pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing 1 hit, walking 1, no runs allowed and striking out 3. Tiburones fall to 0-3 on the season the A’s go to 1-1.
